October 25,2024

The Anderson Japanese Gardens, Rockford, IL

  

We will enjoy a docent-led tour of the Japanese Gardens in Rockford and The Path of Pumpkins (a collection of carved and decorated pumpkins on display submitted by regional schools). We will stay for lunch at Fresco at the Gardens Restaurant on site. Meet at North Park at 8:30 am to carpool and return around 3 pm.

High Tea at The Bakester Patisserie

  

Join garden gal friends for a delightful afternoon at an authentic and complete high tea at The Bakester Patisserie (13 ½ West Davis Street, Arlington Heights) on November 20 at 1:00 pm. Cost is $50 before tax and gratuity. There is a Wednesday Senior discount of 10% and 5% discount for Cash. Please carpool among you

Holiday Luncheon "Sleigh Bells Ring"

Please join us and bring a friend to our annual Holiday luncheon at Medinah Country Club, Thursday, December 5th. Come enjoy the fun, friends, and festivities including a program by a local designer and educator. This is our only fundraiser for the year that supports our programs, community service, and scholarships.

Touch, Taste, Temper and Take Away Chocolate

Indulge in the flavors of chocolate at Morkes Chocolate. Learn about the different kinds, some history, and practice the professional technique known as tempering to make beautiful candy using the best chocolate (We can bring in our own wine)! Event info 2-3:30 pm. Morkes Chocolates 1890 N. Rand Rd, Palatine.

Art in Bloom, Milwaukee Art Museum, Wisconsin

  

Celebrate Spring as we explore the annual celebration of art and flowers throughout the Museum, pairing art from ancient to contemporary with floral designs. Enjoy the art-inspired floral arrangements, special dining and shopping experiences. Meet at North Park to carpool returning and around 4pm. Details to follow.

Tamale Making Event

  

Get ready for Cinco de Mayo with a Tamale making party presented by Shirley Putnam and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law. We will make three kinds of tamales. Event to be held at Nancy Kaye’s home in early May. Date to be finalized later. Limit to 20 attendees. Details to follow.

Summer Garden Party

   

This event is always a highlight of our year. Enjoy our gathering to delight in summer and visit with members, friends, and guests. The Garden Party will be held from 11 am – 2 pm with date and location to be determined.
